Article Writing For Beginners - Powerful Tips That Beginners Can Use Uncovered
By Fabian Tan Platinum Quality Author

When some folks are just getting started working on the Internet they get what is known as the Superman complex. While it is easy to get overwhelmed it is equally as easy to get the impression that you can do just about anything. One of the more common rookie mistakes is the belief that because anyone can have a website, anyone can write. For those who know better, here are some basic article writing tips for those who need a little guidance.

Keeping Things Orderly

The most important and most often overlooked part of the article writing process is the framework. This isn't anything that must be long or terribly involved; it merely exists so that the article itself will appear in a logical and orderly manner.

- Introduction: The introduction gives the reader a short synopsis of what the article will cover. It should be enticing and informative without giving everything away in the first paragraph

- Content: This is the meat of your article wherein most of the information is shared. Keep it on topic and without any unrelated info.

- Summary: Also known as the closer, this is where you summarize the article and briefly restate the main points covered in it.

Keeping your thoughts and information well organized is the most basic of article writing tips but it is something that is often overlooked. For that reason alone, implementing these tips will help your articles to stand out from the rest. Of course the content itself is just as important, but that part's in your hands. Best of luck!

How to Make Money Selling Your Articles
By Sean R Mize

Besides the extra time you will have to think up clever Internet marketing strategies, Article writing expands your writing opportunities. Content is very important on the Internet, and whether you are freelancing or writing for your own website, you can learn how to attract audiences and generate money from your writing much quicker.
Freelance Writing

If you are interested in freelance writing, there are numerous websites that allow you to bid on potential projects that others post. Two very good websites are Elance.com and Ifreelance.com. And, if you are writing in English, you will find that this is one job that is not easily outsourced. It takes a native speaker, native writer, to be able to generate content that the audience respects and admires.

What kind of money can you make as a freelance writer? It all depends on how fast and how good you are. If you learn how to write 800 words per half hour, or 1600 words per hour, and the pay is a medium $10 per 400 word article, you've just made $40/hour. That's pretty good pay for something you love to do! But, $10 per 400 words is not that great a pay, in actuality you can get anywhere from $25 to $50 per article in higher quality markets. Now, consider that you could end up making $100/hr if you became very fast and very good at the same time!

As you can see, by this example, you can make a good living freelance writing, but only if you increase your speed while not sacrificing the quality of your articles.

Do you want to learn more about how I do it? I have just completed my brand new guide to article writing success, 'Your Article Writing and Promotion Guru

3 Reasons to Choose a Freelance Writing Career
By Valencia Higuera

If you're looking for a way to make extra money online and put your writing skills to good use, consider launching a freelance writing career. The benefits of freelance writing from home are huge. If you want a career change, or need extra cash to supplement your income, you can earn a decent income as a freelance writer.

Here are three benefits of starting a freelance writing career.

1. Telecommute or Work from Home

Finding legitimate work from home opportunities is difficult. The majority of telecommute companies request an upfront payment from job seekers. Once paying the initial fee to access a work at home job board, some people never find that perfect opportunity. Rather than wasting your money on envelope stuffing, product assembly, or multi-level marketing programs, choose a work at home opportunity that guarantees income. Several freelance writing job boards offer free online job leads. Check these boards daily and regularly apply for jobs.

2. Freedom of a Freelance Writing Career

With a freelance writing career you'll never have to punch a time clock again. Web developers and companies will hire you as an independent contractor. Freelance writers are able to set their own hours and determine how much work they'll accept. If you want to take a week off for vacation, you don't have to ask permission. Even better, if you have a laptop computer with Internet access, you can work from any location globally.

3. Control Your Income

Freelance writing jobs are typically grouped into two categories: high-paying jobs and low-paying jobs. Because freelance writers are independent contractors, keeping a steady stream of income may require accepting a few low-paying jobs. Despite that, freelance writers have the opportunity to earn unlimited income. Some of the most successful writers earn a six-figure income. Even if you don't gross six-figures within the first few years, a good, consistent writer can expect to earn at least $20,000 - $30,0000/year.

Article Writing - 5 Suggestions For Writing As Many Articles As You Want to With Fresh New Content
By Connie Ragen Green

If you are writing articles regularly, but running out of ideas on what to write about, you are not alone. Many people start off very strong, writing one or more articles every day, and then run out of steam very quickly. Here are some suggestions on how to have an endless source of ideas to write as many articles as you want to forever.

  • Keep a spiral bound notebook with you at all times. Whenever you have an idea, read something that would be interesting to your readers, or someone asks you a question about your topic, be sure to write it down. This way you will not forget it when you are ready to write.
  • Get in the habit of writing at the same time each day. You will accomplish more if you already know you will be writing about the things you have written down in your notebook.
  • Look at previous writing you have done to get new ideas. If you are blogging, look at some of your older posts and see how you can write an article that updates and expands on that blog post.
  • Read other people's articles and blog posts. This may be one of the best ways to get your mind working. Whether you agree or disagree with what is being expressed in someone else's writing, you are sure to have your own ideas and it will be easy for you to write about them in your own article.
  • Look at the news around you, what is happening in your family and community, and information from your niche to get ideas for fresh new content for your articles.

Follow these 5 suggestions and you will be able to write more articles than you ever imagined.

How to Write Articles Faster and More Efficiently
By Sean R Mize

Not every assignment you get is going to curl your toes, but that doesn't mean that the boring ones can't be made more interesting. It's just a fact of life that there are times when the topics you need to write about are dull or not in your area of excitement and fun. That's when you can really use this system to liven things up and keep your brain motor humming.

The first thing you want to do when you get a topic that doesn't light your fire is to do a frequency word list. This will help you start to brainstorm not only profitable areas of research and writing, but also some that may be more interesting to you personally too. If you find some that immediately pop out at you as having some interest, use those to help you jump start the writing process.

With those words in hand, you will go to the Google search engine and start to research for interesting facts and stories that can help you get engaged with the subject. Just remember to add the topic in quotes to get an exact match there and use the frequency word list in combination with that to expand your search results.

Keep A Tight Schedule

Writing is one of the most flexible professions out there. Whether you are a mother of three, already have a day-time job, or work the night shift, you can still spend time writing any time of day or night around that schedule. So, while on the plus side the flexibility makes it a very attractive job, it can also hamper people who don't know how to set and keep a tight schedule for themselves.

One of the things you want to do as you develop a schedule to write, is to keep in mind when you are most creative. That differs for everyone. Some people write best when they first wake up, and others are night owls. Even if you have other work that has to be scheduled during certain times, you will find that the creative juices tend to flow at particular times for you and you might have to rearrange the schedule to suit that muse. That just goes along with this type of profession. You will find it has a natural rhythm of its own and you are the one chasing the muse, not it coming to you.

But, once you've figure out the best times to write for you, you should keep to it and have a schedule so as to get in the habit and practice of writing, whether you feel like it or not. That might be a four hour block of time in the morning when all the kids are in school. Or, it might be late at night because that's the time when you best write. Either, way, try to schedule a set number of hours to work, if you intend to take this profession seriously. If you are just trying to start to write, you can start with smaller chunks of time, maybe even during a lunch break so that you get started just doing it.

And, that's the other thing that should be mentioned. Almost always, the biggest hump to actually writing is just getting started. That's why the free association exercise can work to stir the creative juices without building any pressure on you to produce a meaningful piece of work. It's just a matter of sitting down and starting to get words on paper that can often be the biggest stumbling block. Hopefully, by using the strategies and tools in this ebook, you can at least know how to get started with word lists, research, and or even mind mapping to get started and spend less time looking at a blank sheet of paper.

If you do get writer's block, don't let it freak you out. Try the word lists, the mind maps, spend time reading instead of writing, or simply get up and have a cup of coffee or take a short walk. These types of activities tend to reduce the stress of performance anxiety and also help you to get the right frame of mind to use the part of your brain involved in creative acts.

How to Make Your Article Look Good to the Reader
By Sean R Mize

Layout is very important. Your articles have to be visually appealing for them to be intellectually or socially appealing. You can write the best copy ever, but if it is displayed in one large chunk of text with no formatting or even paragraph spacing, there will be very few people willing to even attempt to read it. The reason for that is that the text on your computer can be a strain to read, unlike the text on a page in a book. And, even in books, you will see attempts to make the text visually appealing with some sort of guidelines. Well, you have to incorporate guidelines to make your web copy attractive too, except in this case, what you don't write is more important (in some cases) than what you do write.

We're not talking about adding all kinds of colors or unusual fonts to make your page pretty. In fact, one color and one font is the best way to keep your readers from feeling too strained as they read your text online. What we are suggesting is that you make the article layout easy on the eyes by adding white space and different formatting to draw in the reader, and not overwhelm them.

When you think about the way people read online articles these days, you know that people naturally skim text and then decide whether to read the entire article or not. They just don't have the time or patience to sit through a huge article, otherwise, they'd just buy a book and sit down to have a good read. Online, people are looking for instant information and that means that the layout becomes highly important. It should be visually appealing and easy enough to read and highlight your main points so that when readers skim the article, they know which sections to read, or whether to they want to read the entire article or not. To conform to those standards, you need to include white space to isolate and highlight different headings and also you need to use special formatting to keep the eyes dancing through the page as it skims along the main points.

For that, you want the following:

- Bold title - Bold the title so that it's easily picked up within a listing of other articles. It draws the immediate attention of someone who is looking at titles only to decide whether to read or not.

- Capitalize key words - If you really want to draw attention to specific words in the title, just capitalize all of the word. Just be careful not to overuse this formatting as it can look like you are shouting to the reader.

- Break up paragraphs - In real word writing, you don't change paragraphs until the topic changes. This is not appropriate to online writing where the eye tends to tire from reading the screen much more easily. Instead, break up paragraphs into short chunks. Some online marketers will even go as far as to insert a new paragraph every three to fine lines of text.

- Add subheadings - Even if you break up the paragraphs, that doesn't make it easy enough for people skimming it to know what each one is about. So, add subheadings that quickly give the skimmer a synopsis of what's in those paragraphs, that way they can choose to read it or not.

- Add bullets and lists - Bullets and lists help to break up text and provide a quick encapsulation of relevant points. Always include subheadings in them so that the skimmer can pick the bullets of interest to them.

As you can see, you can even combine these elements to give them more emphasis, as in the list above. We not only created a bulleted list, but we added subheadings, and bolded the subheadings to give them special emphasis. What comes out is a list that is easily skimmed and then evaluated for the most important topics to the reader.

Get Paid to Write Articles Online
By Melissa Ritter

There is a technique to writing articles if you plan on getting traffic from Google, Yahoo, or any of the other search engines. You must know what you are writing about, and have the ability to keep your readers attention. This is how we are going to get our visitors to read the entire article. If you accomplish that, then chances are you have sparked their interest, and they will be more likely to check out your website or affiliate link that will be listed in the bio box.

First things first:

FIND A PRODUCT
The first step before you can begin your article marketing campaign is to know what you will be promoting. If you already have a product, skip this step. If you do not have a product, there are thousands of them all over the internet that you can promote, and receive a commission for the sale. The most popular sites for this are Clickbank and Commission Junction, but there are many more if you just do a search for them. Choose a product that when reading the sales page, you would be tempted to purchase. Steer clear from products that allow orders by phone, as you will not get the commission, so if you find this option for ordering on a product site, I would recommend searching for another product.

RESEARCH THE PRODUCT
Now that you have the product that you plan on promoting, you have to know what it is, how it works, and most importantly, what the benefits are for the customer. Go to the product website and read the sales page and take notes on what the benefits are. This is extremely important if you want to write a professional article and gain your readers trust.

WRITE YOUR ARTICLE
Writing articles for the first time can be intimidating, which is why many online marketers never get started, and ultimately lose out on all of the free targeted traffic that can be gained by writing a short article with good content. Always write your article first and save it to your computer as you will need to refer back to it. Start out by introducing what you are going to tell your reader. The first sentence or two is going to determine whether or not your reader is going to finish the article. You then move in to the article, and tell them what you want them to know about the subject. Make sure to list the benefits in great detail. In closing, summarize what you told them. Once you write a few articles, it will become much easier. DO NOT sell the product in your article. Some article directories will not even publish your article if it looks like a sales letter, and more importantly, if it does get published, your reader will click out of it as fast as they clicked in if they feel that it is a sales pitch.

AUTHOR'S BIO BOX
At the end of the article, there is an area for the Authors Bio - this is where you can let the reader know a little about you, and offer a link to your website, affiliate link, or blog. Do make sure that the article relates to what you are promoting, otherwise, your link may get clicked on, but your prospect won't stay long when they see that it has nothing to do with the article they just read.

CHOOSE A TITLE
This is the most important part of this process, and really is the indicator of whether or not your article will get picked up by the search engines. You must find a title that will be searched for, but be smart and choose a phrase with less search results. In other words, if you are trying to get an article indexed by Google using a search phrase that will give 1 million results, chances are your article will never be seen. Use the free keyword tools and you should be able to find many phrases to suit the content of your article.

SUBMIT YOUR ARTICLE
The final step is submitting your article to free article directory sites. Many of them will publish it right away, but there are some that are reviewed by a real person before they get published. This sounds like bad news, but the article sites that do this are the ones that you will get a lot of traffic from if your article gets published by them.

That's it. Once you do this once or twice, you will become more comfortable with the process, and will be able to write better articles in a shorter period of time. The results can be extremely powerful if your article gets picked up by a large publication. There are also tons of other marketers out there looking to update the content on their blog or website. I have found many of my own articles on other blogs which means I have attracted the reader's attention. This is a great way to get viral traffic. Why? Any person who uses someone else's article is required to keep the information in the bio box intact. Otherwise, it would be considered plagiarism. What does that mean? It means that your website or affiliate link will be advertised for free on someone else's website. This is a great way to gain backlinks to your site.

If you choose a popular title, you should be able to do a search for the title name in 1-2 days and find your article listed on the first page of the search engines. Get started today writing your articles, and don't get discouraged if the first one is not extremely successful. Article writing is free, so take advantage of it.
